Scalloped Potatoes

 

5 large potatoes, peeled & sliced thin

1/2 stick butter

1/4 cup flour

2 1/2 cups milk

6-8 slices American cheese

1/2 tablespoon salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

1 teaspoon onion powder

 

Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in flour. Whisk in milk. Heat until bubbly & thickened. Add cheese, salt, pepper, & onion powder. Stir until cheese is melted.

Layer half of the potatoes in a casserole dish that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Add half of the sauce. Repeat layers.

Bake covered at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Remove cover & bake another 30 minutes.
