Red Enchilada Sauce



3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 Tbsp masa harina

2 cups tomato sauce

1 1/2 cups water

1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar

1 Tbsp chili powder

1 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp cocoa powder

1/2 – 1 tsp cayenne pepper, depends on how hot you like it

1 tsp salt

3/4 tsp ground coriander

1/2 tsp oregano

1/4 tsp black pepper


Combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil. Simmer for 20 minutes.

To prevent clumps, whisk masa harina with some of the 1 1/2 cups of water.
