Yakimandu

Several years ago we were entering our first homeschool geography fair. Part of the fair was to have a finger food from your country at your table to share. Our country was South Korea. One reason we chose South Korea was because my aunt and uncle had lived there since 1978, so I knew I could get authentic recipes and send my aunt the money to ship us items for our display. She suggested yakimandu for our finger food. It was a huge hit! In fact, the children of one family could never remember my name; they just called me the yakimandu lady whenever they saw me. 🙂

I hope you enjoy it as much as we have!

    • When we first started making them, I cooked the meat about halfway done because I was concerned that it wouldn’t cook completely. After a couple of times, I realized that the meat will cook. Either way works just fine, but eliminating the step of partially cooking the meat saves time & the wrappers are easier to fill & seal.
